What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy that treats the body as a whole. We as Manual Osteopaths perceive the human body in a way that structure and function are interrelated, and that inflammation is a byproduct of a trigger within our system. Through the power of our hands we use gentle mobilization, muscle energy and soft tissue techniques to help restore the body back to its normal physiological state.
From an Osteopathic standpoint we treat it all from muscle, to joint allignment, to nerve irritation, visceral pain, and even headaches. This is why our method of treatment works so well for those suffering with chronic pain, because we don’t just look at the problem, we look at the source of that pain and the compensation patterns that have resulted from it.
Our body is always looking for a way to heal itself, it just needs someone to identify the problem to help facilitate that self-healing. This is what we do as Manual Osteopaths, we are facilitators of healing and help manage chronic pain.
